Sobre Francisco
IB Biology teacher at an international school with a Bachelors (BSc.), Masters (MSc.), Doctorate (PhD.) and several years of experience as a scientific researcher (multiple publications in several international peer-reviewed scientific journals).
I have lived most of my life abroad and after stepping down from the world of research I fell in love with teaching. The most rewarding aspect being the chance to ignite the scientific curiosity of students.
Biology = The study of life !
How can it not be beautifully intriguing?
I am also a (self taught) musician, poet, gardener (chilly peppers!!), and martial arts practitioner. I'm practical, calm, and cheerful.

As a trained research scientist, my overarching method revolves around helping students understand the full context of what they're striving to learn - how and why things connect and relate.
Special attention is payed to content knowledge gaps, revisions, exams style questions, and critical thought.
More than just solidifying syllabus content or memorising, I want to bestow upon my students interpretative and conceptual understanding tools to sharpen mental agility. The ultimate goal is the ability to learn or tackle any intellectual problem or content.
Being an IB Biology teacher at an international school, my lessons involve real-life scenarios and practical "hands-on" approaches with the IB syllabus and learner profile in mind.
Lessons are meant to be enjoyed, clear, interesting, and fun!
Dare to try ?
