Sobre Simana

Welcome! Achieve Advanced Fluency with a Certified Expert

Hello and welcome! If you are looking to unlock your true potential in English, you have come to the right place.
I am a professional, CELTA-certified English as a Foreign Language (EFL) instructor currently teaching at some of the most reputable language institutes across Lisbon and the Cascais line, including ILO Oeiras and Oxford School. I work exclusively with ambitious teenagers and adult professionals who need to achieve high-level results quickly.
Choosing a tutor is a big investment in your future, and I take your progress very seriously. When you work with me, you are not just getting conversational practice—you are getting a structured, elite educational experience backed by international Cambridge training methodologies.

A Proven Track Record of Success

My absolute strongest suit is delivering measurable progress. I specialize in taking A2 and B1 level speakers and successfully guiding them all the way to advanced C1 fluency. Whether you feel stuck at an intermediate plateau or lose your confidence when speaking, I have the exact roadmap and experience to break through those barriers.

My Core Specializations:

• High-Stakes IELTS Preparation: We will thoroughly dissect the official band descriptors. You will learn the precise strategies required to maximize your scores in Speaking, Writing, Reading, and Listening for university or emigration.
• Executive Business English: I coach professionals to master corporate communication, deliver flawless presentations, ace international job interviews, and navigate elite workplace networking.
• Comprehensive General English: I help students build bulletproof grammatical accuracy and natural, fluid conversational confidence.

My Commitment to You

Every lesson we share will be 100% immersive, highly engaging, and entirely tailored to your specific goals. I bring the same rigorous standards, professionalism, and passion from my institute classrooms directly to our private sessions.
Let’s bridge the gap to your advanced English goals together. I look forward to meeting you!

My Teaching Methodology & Lesson Structure

My methodology is rooted in the world-renowned Cambridge CELTA framework, meaning my lessons are 100% immersive, student-centered, and practical. I do not rely on boring grammar lectures. Instead, I use the communicative approach to get you speaking accurately and confidently from day one.

My Specialized Teaching Techniques

• The Communicative Approach: I create real-world scenarios where you must actively use the language. This shifts your grammar from passive knowledge to active, fluid speech.
• Guided Discovery: Instead of just giving you rules, I guide you to notice language patterns yourself. This technique ensures long-term memory retention.
• Rigid Rubric Alignment (IELTS): For exam preparation, I train you using the official band descriptors. You will learn exactly what examiners look for in lexical resource, grammatical range, and coherence.

️ How a Typical 60-Minute Lesson Takes Place

Each session is highly structured to maximize your talking time:
• First 10 Minutes (The Warm-up & Review): An engaging communicative task to activate your English brain and review vocabulary from our previous session.
• Next 20 Minutes (Target Language & Analysis): We introduce a complex target skill (e.g., an IELTS academic writing structure or a business negotiation framework). We analyze real examples together.
• Next 20 Minutes (Controlled & Free Practice): You put the new skill into practice through structured speaking or writing tasks while I take detailed notes on your performance.
• Final 10 Minutes (Error Correction & Feedback): I provide personalized correction on your grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary choices, setting clear goals for your independent study.

Who These Lessons Are Intended For

My classes are strictly designed for teenagers (ages 13+) and adult learners. I specifically cater to:
• Level Jumpers (A2/B1 to C1): Lower-intermediate speakers who feel stuck and want a proven track record to push them to advanced mastery.
• IELTS Candidates: Students needing Academic or General training targets for university admissions, global emigration, or professional medical licensing.
• Corporate Professionals: Executives and tech workers looking to master business presentations, interview prep, and global workplace communication.
• General English Students: Learners looking to build absolute confidence in everyday conversational and academic environments.
