Sobre Oliver
I'm a native English speaker with a BSc in Mathematics and an MSc in Finance, based in Belém, Lisbon. I work with international school and GCSE/IGCSE students across the IGCSE, IB, and American curricula.
Recent results include a student who passed her GCSEs with the grade she needed for university, and a student who went from at risk of failing to a B in his final assessment. His teacher noted a real change in both his understanding and his attitude toward maths.
I'm patient, supportive and I know many students find maths frustrating at times, so I focus on a calm environment where questions are always welcome. Several years coaching under-18s in sport (swimming and rugby) taught me to adapt to how each young person learns, which translates directly into one-to-one tuition.

My lessons are structured, supportive and tailored to each student's level and confidence. I help students strengthen their core maths skills and get comfortable with exam-style questions across IGCSE, IB, and American Common Core.
A typical session includes a quick review of previous material, clear step-by-step explanations of new topics, and guided practice to make sure the method is fully understood. I put strong emphasis on building real understanding and confidence, not just memorising procedures.
Lessons are available in Belém, at the student's home, or online.
