Sobre Mario
Hello! My name is Mario, and I'm a native Brazilian Portuguese teacher with over 10 years of experience teaching Portuguese and English.
My passion for languages began when I was a teenager. As an AFS volunteer, I hosted exchange students from different countries and helped them improve their Portuguese while adapting to life in Brazil. Later, I had the opportunity to become an exchange student myself and spent a year living in the United States. These experiences gave me a deep appreciation for different cultures and a firsthand understanding of the challenges of learning a new language.
Because I speak English fluently, I can explain Portuguese clearly and make the learning process easier, especially for beginners. My goal is not only to teach grammar and vocabulary but also to help students communicate naturally and confidently in real-life situations.
I enjoy meeting people from around the world and creating a relaxed, motivating environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and improving with every lesson. Whether you're learning Portuguese for travel, work, family, or simply because you love Brazil and its culture, I'll be happy to help you achieve your goals.
I look forward to meeting you and being part of your Portuguese learning journey!

Learning a new language should be practical, enjoyable, and motivating. That's why my lessons are dynamic, personalized, and focused on real communication from the very beginning.
My teaching method combines conversation, pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary in a natural way, always adapted to your goals, interests, and current level. Whether you're a complete beginner or an advanced student, I'll help you build confidence and speak Brazilian Portuguese naturally.
I believe students learn best by actively using the language, so you'll be encouraged to speak throughout every lesson in a relaxed and supportive environment where making mistakes is part of the learning process.
Having hosted exchange students through AFS and lived in the United States as an exchange student myself, I understand the challenges of learning a new language and adapting to a different culture. This experience allows me to explain Portuguese clearly and make every lesson engaging, practical, and effective.
Whether you're learning Portuguese for travel, work, moving to Brazil, or simply because you love Brazilian culture, I'll create a personalized learning plan to help you reach your goals.
