Hi, my name is Darron. I am a South African (native English speaker) living in São Paulo, Brazil. I graduated with a degree in Business administration and later went on to get an Executive MBA from BSP (Business School São Paulo). I have been living and working in Brazil since 2008. In that time I earned a TESOL diploma from Anaheim University and an ICELT diploma from Cambridge University.
I have 15 years experience teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) and 5 years experience as a Cambridge Oral Examiner. I have also been teaching Business English both In-Company and privately. Through my teaching experience I am able to plan, prepare and deliver classes in a way that is both meaningful and relevant for students of all ages and effectively create a safe classroom environment that promotes learning. Private one-on-one lessons have allowed me to gain a personal insight into students' individual needs and custom my classes accordingly.
Olá, meu nome é Daron. Sou sul-africano (falante nativo de inglês) e moro em São Paulo, Brasil. Me formei em administração de empresas e depois fiz um MBA Executivo pela BSP (Business School São Paulo). Moro e trabalho no Brasil desde 2008. Nesse período, obtive um diploma TESOL da Anaheim University e um diploma ICELT da Cambridge University.
Tenho 15 anos de experiência no ensino de Inglês como Língua Estrangeira (EFL) e 5 anos de experiência como Cambridge Oral Examiner. Também tenho ensinado inglês para negócios tanto na empresa quanto em particular. Por meio de minha experiência de ensino, sou capaz de planejar, preparar e ministrar aulas de maneira significativa e relevante para alunos de todas as idades e criar efetivamente um ambiente de sala de aula seguro que promova o aprendizado. As aulas particulares individuais me permitiram obter uma visão pessoal das necessidades individuais dos alunos e personalizar minhas aulas de acordo.
Having worked at two prestigious language schools here in São Paulo, I have been able to adopt their communicative methodology into my own. This means that that there is a strong emphasis on speaking in the class.
I make use of authentic material (articles and videos) allowing for open discussion of the topic, the procurement of new vocabulary and the exploitation of grammar. Should a book be required for a more structured program, I would make use of this too. It goes without saying that grammar would be an integral part of the class.
I am acutely aware that many professionals need to use their English in a work setting which means that work related issues will be given a top priority. If you need help with an email or understanding work literature for example, priority would be given to that.
I am also able to provide coaching for presentations, CVs, interviews, etc.
Furthemore, I also provide training/coaching for English proficiency exams for example IELTS, TOEFL, BEC, FCE, CAE and CPE.
Tendo trabalhado em duas escolas de idiomas de prestígio aqui em São Paulo, pude adotar a metodologia comunicativa delas na minha. Isso significa que há uma forte ênfase em falar na aula.
Faço uso de material autêntico (artigos e vídeos) que permitem uma discussão aberta sobre o assunto, a aquisição de novo vocabulário e a exploração da gramática. Se um livro fosse necessário para um programa mais estruturado, eu o usaria também. Escusado será dizer que a gramática seria parte integrante da classe.
Estou perfeitamente ciente de que muitos profissionais precisam usar seu inglês em um ambiente de trabalho, o que significa que as questões relacionadas ao trabalho terão prioridade máxima. Se você precisar de ajuda com um e-mail ou entender a literatura de trabalho, por exemplo, será dada prioridade a isso.
Também sou capaz de fornecer treinamento para apresentações, currículos, entrevistas, etc.
Além disso, também ofereço treinamento/coaching para exames de proficiência em inglês, por exemplo, IELTS, TOEFL, BEC, FCE, CAE e CPE.
