Mais detalhes sobre Fey

  • 1) Do you speak this language fluently because of your roots or because a teacher inspired you to learn it?

Since I was born and raised in Nebraska, in the heart of the United States, English is my native language. My true passion for the language and for teaching began when I realized how transformative effective communication can be. Growing up in the Midwest gave me a natural, neutral American accent. Seeing people from all over the world strive to connect through English motivated me to use my background to help professionals claim their space on the global stage.
  • 2) Name a person (current, historical, or fictional) who, in your opinion, represents the culture of the language you teach well.

When thinking of the American culture of determination, pragmatism, and direct communication, I love to cite Warren Buffett, who happens to be from Nebraska as well. Beyond finance, his communication style embodies American business culture. He speaks clearly, simply, directly, and with immense credibility. In the English-speaking business world, being straightforward and authentic is worth far more than using fancy jargon, and that exact clarity is what I teach in my classes.
  • 3) Is there a particular word, expression, or tradition that you especially like?

I have a soft spot for the business expression "to hit the ground running." It means to start a new project or job at full speed, fully prepared and ready to deliver results right away. It perfectly captures the momentum of the American workplace.

As for traditions, I love the spirit of Thanksgiving. It is centered on gratitude, family, and warmth, values deeply rooted in Nebraska culture. I bring that welcoming, attentive atmosphere into every lesson.
  • 4) Why is learning this language important (academically, professionally, or personally)?

Today, English is not just a language; it is the global currency for personal and professional growth. Corporately, it is the key to unlocking global meetings, international negotiations, and high-level career opportunities. On a personal level, it gives you complete independence. You can travel, consume media at its original source, and connect with people worldwide without relying on translators. English removes the limits on your potential.
  • 5) What is the biggest challenge in learning this language, and how can it be overcome?

The biggest hurdle for most adults is not grammar, it is the fear of making mistakes and freezing up when speaking. In business English, many professionals feel they lose their authority if they do not speak perfectly.

The way around this is to shift your focus from perfection to connection. In our lessons, we build a safe environment through real-world workplace simulations, mock interviews, and networking scenarios. You practice until the vocabulary and pronunciation feel completely natural and stress-free.
  • 6) Could you share a funny story or curiosity related to your profession or private lessons?

One of the funniest and most common moments happens with false cognates or workplace jargon. Once, during a simulated meeting, a student trying to say they were overwhelmed with tasks said they were "very excited" about all the problems. We had a great laugh and used the moment to map out the exact tone for corporate vocabulary. It is those lighthearted moments that make the learning stick forever.
  • 7) Help us get to know you better! Tell us a bit about your travels, native friendships, or personal background.

Coming from Nebraska, I grew up surrounded by open landscapes and a classic, welcoming American sense of community. Throughout my life, I have had the opportunity to live alongside and work with people from diverse backgrounds, which taught me to navigate different accents and cultural nuances effortlessly. I have friends all over the globe and love traveling, exploring new cultures, and seeing how English acts as the bridge connecting different stories. Outside of teaching, I love chatting about food, travel, and global market trends.
  • 8) What makes you a Superprof (besides the power to communicate in multiple languages)?

What makes me a Superprof is my active listening and deep personalization. I do not follow a rigid, one-size-fits-all textbook. As a native speaker, I bring real, practical, up-to-date American English, the kind you actually hear on calls with teams in the US or Europe. My superpower is taking your professional background and turning our lessons into a practical launchpad where you build not just vocabulary, but the confidence to stand out in any international meeting.
